"The Nitty Gritty"
an interview by Amanda Jewel of the Ezine, Fat Girls are Fun
Q: First, the question everyone is dying to know: What's your favorite
food? A: This is very difficult for me to answer, because I love food. The best thing I have ever eaten
was a stuffed pork chop in Cozumel, Mexico. It was covered in Pineapple Bar-B-Que sauce and it was absolutely delectable.
I love Japanese food, Portuguese food, and Hawaiian food above all. My family is Portuguese from Hawaii, so that's what I
grew up eating. And of course, what girl doesn't adore chocolate. Chocolate cures all ailments. Q:
We know you like to eat, but can you cook? A: There have been a variety of opinions regarding that question, but
I love to cook and I think I am a very good cook. I love making Cajun food and pasta. Pasta is fun! Q:
OK, now the question everyone is really dying to know: Exactly how big are they? A: Oh, I could be such a tease
right now. I wear a 46 DDD. Q: And your measurements? A: 54, 49, 56 Q:
Not a lot of models have short hair, but it looks great on you! Exactly how long have you had this look? A: I
have not had long hair since I was 15, and I am actually trying to grow my hair out now. I think it's time for a change.
What really might surprise you is that I had a mo hawk right up until last year. Of all my short haircuts, I miss my
mo hawk the most. I had my hair that way for 3 years. Q: Do you think there is any truth to the
idea that a chubby woman has a better personality than a thin woman? A: I think a lot of people assume that being
a bigger girl forces you to have a better personality, because that is all you've got. That is a myth that I do not
buy into. Yes, it is unfortunately true that certain things in society force some overweight women to feel less than
pleased with themselves. Unfortunately there are still some people who judge us based on our size. But my true belief
is that who you are makes you sexy! I have been blessed with curves and a great personality. The same way that
my friend Adrienne, who is on of the most beautiful women I know, has been blessed with tight abs and a great personality.
I think beauty is completely about how you feel about yourself. I never assume some one will be less interesting just
because they are thin. Q: Tell us about your personality? A: Sometimes I see myself as a
cartoon character. I can be overwhelmingly flamboyant and bubbly at times. Because I am originally from California,
I can come off as being somewhat of a Valley Girl. I also have a very dark side. A very dark sense of humor that can
offset all of that glitter. Q: I hear you are an animal lover, is that true? A: I do love
animals. I have a dog (who truly is my best friend), 2 cats and a pet rat names Pocky (after the Japanese candy) Q:
How comfortable are you in front of the camera? A: Well, I usually feel at home in front of a camera, but having
a good photographer helps. Some one who will give you a little direction, but who is not overbearing. I have always
loved having my photograph taken though, since I was a child. What can I say, I guess I enjoy being looked at. Q:
You spoke about photographers, how do you feel about being behind the camera? A: Funny you should ask that.
I have experimented with some independent film. I dabble directing short films, mainly of the horror genre. I
am currently at a stand still in the feature length movie I was directing and co-producing last year, called "Lesbian Army
of the Undead." It took Peter Jackson 5 years to finish "Bad Taste," so who knows... Maybe some day I will be done. Q:
What is your favorite style of shoot? A: I have to say that I am really partial to "Cheesecake" pinup photos.
Those are the women I admired as a young girl and I am still fascinated by the whole genre today. Q:
Have you ever collaborated with other female models? A:Yes, I have and currently have a few shoots lined up that
would feature me with another model. In the past, I have only worked with other plus size women, but I have some projects
going on right now that will showcase me with other types of women. Q: If you could work with any other
model, who would it be? A: I absolutely love love love Jami Deadly. She is a goddess and I would be honored.
Not to mention how much I could learn from someone so talented. Q: How do you feel about working with
male models? A: I have never done it, but am certainly open to the idea. I get a lot of fans who ask if I am a
lesbian, but I love men, too. I would actually consider myself bisexual, just to clear the gossip. I think differently
shaped and curved bodies are beautiful. Q: What qualities do you find attractive in a man? A:
The most important thing in a man is a sense of humor. Also, artistic talent and a great smile. I really love dorks,
actually. I would consider myself pretty dorky, I actually kind of take pride in it! So any man who would take
me to a comic convention is the man for me. Q: What are you looking for in a woman? A: Qualities
I am attracted to in a woman... hmm... Well, again with the smile thing and some one who makes me laugh. But also, I
love women who are self-confident, intelligent, open-minded. On a physical level, I have a tendency to be attracted
to curvaceous women, though that is not a requirement. I love hips. The sway of a woman's hips can truly drive
me mad! Q: Describe your fantasy romantic scenario. What would it take to sweep you off of your
feet? A:To go out with someone and just feel completely comfortable. Like we could dance in the rain or picnic
in the park together. And kissing, lots and lots of great kissing is key to win me over.
